Thank you,
Our adventure began in Alberobello, where we wandered amidst the whimsical Trulli houses. These unique, cone-roofed dwellings, built entirely of local limestone, transported us to a bygone era. Marveling at their intricate craftsmanship, we learned about the history behind these UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Leaving Alberobello, the landscape unfolded, revealing rolling hills dotted with olive groves and vineyards. The culmination of this scenic journey was Polignano a Mare. Here, the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea sparkled under the sun, inviting us for a refreshing dip. The charming seaside town itself offered a delightful mix of history and beauty, with its quaint streets and traditional architecture providing a glimpse into Puglian life.
VisitReggioCalabria’s Amalfi Coast tour was an experience straight out of a dream. The dramatic cliffs of Positano, a town clinging impossibly to the rugged coastline, left us speechless. Everywhere we turned, the views unfolded like breathtaking postcards come to life. Wandering the charming streets of Amalfi, steeped in history and culture, we were captivated by the region’s unique magic. This tour truly captured the essence of Southern Italy, leaving us with memories that will forever be cherished.
And the enchantment continued! Our tour to Pompeii was an archaeologist’s dream come true. Walking through the ancient streets of this perfectly preserved Roman city was an experience beyond compare. Everywhere we looked, we were surrounded by remnants of a lost civilization – the forum, the bathhouses, the homes – all frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. This incredible journey through history allowed us to imagine daily life in Pompeii centuries ago, offering a glimpse into a bygone era.
Lino’s knowledge of the area shone through as he shared the rich history and culture of Scilla. He brought the town to life!
Lino didn’t stop there. He treated us to a delightful lunch at a local restaurant. The fresh seafood and delicious wine were a true taste of Calabria.
After a satisfying meal, Lino drove us back to Reggio. There, he provided a fascinating tour of the city, including the museum housing the renowned Riace bronzes.
Lino’s expertise, friendly demeanor, and professionalism made our day truly memorable. We highly recommend him and Visitreggiocalabria to anyone seeking an unforgettable exploration of this beautiful region of Italy.

A 7-day tour of Sicily with VisitReggioCalabria unveiled the island’s magic. Each stop felt like a new chapter in a history book, showcasing Sicily’s vibrant mix of cultures. We started in the energetic city of Palermo, where bustling ancient markets overwhelmed our senses with sights, sounds, and delicious smells. Here, amidst overflowing stalls, we experienced the heart and soul of authentic Sicily.
Our journey continued to Taormina, a picturesque town perched on a cliffside. History came alive as we explored the awe-inspiring Greek theater, imagining the roar of crowds from centuries ago. Breathtaking views of Mount Etna, Europe’s tallest active volcano, added another layer of grandeur to this unforgettable experience.
Throughout the tour, Sicily’s rich tapestry unfolded. From bustling Arab markets to echoes of Greek and Roman eras, each stop provided a deeper understanding of the island’s fascinating past. VisitReggioCalabria’s expert guides expertly navigated us through this incredible journey, ensuring we didn’t miss a single thread in Sicily’s magnificent story.
Stepping into Matera’s Sassi districts felt like traveling through time. These ancient cave dwellings, carved directly into the rock face, were once home to entire neighborhoods! We wandered through labyrinthine alleys, encountering homes, churches, and vibrant life nestled within the cool caves.
Our expert guide brought Matera’s rich history to life. We learned about the Sassi’s evolution, from their humble beginnings to a challenging yet resilient past. Exploring these spaces wasn’t just about the architecture; it was about the spirit and tenacity of the people who lived there.
Everywhere we turned, Matera pulsed with life. Unlike a museum, it was a living testament to history. Local artisans plied their trades, children played in the squares, and the scent of wood smoke from traditional chimneys filled the air. This vibrant tapestry of the past woven into the present left us awestruck.
Leaving Matera, we carried a newfound appreciation for the enduring power of human history. This unforgettable city filled us with wonder. Thanks, VisitReggioCalabria, for an amazing tour.

Calabria Trip: A Fantastic Experience with Visitreggiocalabria (by Gene)
Our trip to Calabria was unforgettable, thanks in large part to Visitreggiocalabria’s exceptional guide.
The guide collaborated with us to create a personalized itinerary that fit our timeframe. He expertly navigated local customs and ensured we stayed on track, even when some facilities were closed, allowing us to see more of Calabria.
He provided a comfortable car perfect for the region’s roads and was a safe driver. Thoughtfully, he planned visits to start at higher elevations and work our way down, making walking enjoyable. He also included refreshing stops for food and drinks throughout the day.
The guide’s deep knowledge of Calabria’s history came alive through engaging conversation, not lectures. We learned about the region’s long history, from the Greeks to the Romans and Byzantines, even when physical remnants weren’t present.
While a route was planned beforehand, the guide readily adjusted timing and visit sequences to accommodate opening hours, travel times, and our interests.
The guide’s extensive knowledge, good judgment, and dedication made our trip truly memorable. He was highly competent, hardworking, and ensured a rich and enjoyable experience. A big thank you to Visitreggiocalabria for making this a lifetime memory!
